The corporation Meta has started testing a premium subscription on Instagram. It is called Instagram Plus and provides owners with access to exclusive features, according to TechCrunch.
Among Instagram’s premium features is the ability to view Stories without the author knowing that you saw them. Subscribers can also see how many people have rewatched their own Stories.
In addition, subscription owners can create an unlimited number of audience lists for Stories, beyond the Close Friends list. This means users can control who sees each Story.
Subscribers can also extend their Story by an additional 24 hours and choose to display a Story once a week, increasing its visibility by moving it to the front of the Stories panel for followers.
Subscribers will also be able to give animated “super likes” to other users’ Stories and search the viewer list to quickly see if a specific person has seen a specific post, instead of scrolling through the entire list.
Although Meta has not disclosed which countries the premium subscription is being tested in, social media posts indicate that the new paid feature is being tested in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines.
Prices vary by country. According to screenshots shared by users, it costs approximately $2.20 per month in Mexico, $2 in Japan, and around $1.10 in the Philippines.
Previously, Instagram updated the Stories section, adding editing capabilities with generative artificial intelligence. Users can now modify photos and videos in Stories both manually and through Meta AI prompts.
