Lviv hit by record Russian strike: 78 drones and 12 missiles launched overnight
During the night of Sunday, October 5, Lviv and the region were attacked by 90 strike drones and missiles launched by Russia. The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration said that the enemy carried out the largest attack on the Lviv region since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Ukraine strikes Russian Buyan-M warship near Lake Onega in rare inland attack
Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian Buyan-M-class small missile ship overnight near Lake Onega. The vessel carries Oniks and Kalibr cruise missiles.
"In the area of Lake Onega (Republic of Karelia, Russia), a small missile ship, Buyan-M, was damaged. The extent of the damage is being verified," the General Staff said.
Russia hits Shostka train station twice: Children among injured
The Russian army carried out a double drone strike on the railway station and two passenger trains in the city of Shostka on Saturday, October 4. It is already known that there are injured people, including three children

In Georgia, municipal elections were held in 64 cities and municipalities amid mass protests and clashes with security forces. The ruling pro-Russian party, Georgian Dream, claims it achieved a "stunning victory."
The Central Election Commission of Georgia, controlled by Georgian Dream, has counted ballots from nearly all polling stations in the capital. According to their data, Kakha Kaladze, nominated by the ruling party, was re-elected mayor of Tbilisi with 71.56% of the vote.
The commission also says the ruling party is winning in other cities and municipalities, securing more than 80% of the vote nationwide. Georgian Dream quickly declared a "stunning victory."
Protesters storm Georgia presidential palace amid election boycott
In Georgia, instead of participating in local elections, where turnout is critically low, people took to the streets in protest. Demonstrators attempted to storm the country's presidential palace.
Opposition parties are boycotting the vote and the elections entirely. Several pro-Western political forces are doing the same. Their main complaint is political repression by the authorities against opposition politicians and civil society.
Czech ultranationalist pushes to join government, calls to expel Ukrainian refugees
Tomio Okamura, leader of the far-right SPD party in Czechia, wants his party to join the government together with ANO.
The ANO movement managed to win more than 34% of the votes in the elections.
On Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4, elections were held in Czechia for the lower house of parliament — the Chamber of Deputies.
After counting more than 97% of the votes, victory went to the ANO party, led by the country’s former prime minister, Andrej Babiš.
