Massive attack on Kyiv: Air Force lands over 40 aerial targets
Tonight, on November 25, the enemy launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv. The air defense system destroyed more than 40 aerial targets, reports the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Mykhailo Shamanov, during a telethon.
"This is only preliminary operational information; this is the fourth attack of enemy UAVs on Kyiv in a month. This drone attack has been the most massive since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Over forty aerial targets were hit by the forces and means of air defense," Shamanov stated.
According to the head of the Administration, the enemy used barraging Shahed drones. There were several waves of launches from different directions.
What the Air Force says
"Tonight, the enemy released a record number of strike UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type over Ukraine. The main direction of the attack is Kyiv! Await for the alert to be called off; we will inform you about the results of the combat work shortly!" writes the Air Force's press service.
Consequences of the attack
According to preliminary information, as a result of drone interceptions, debris was recorded in various areas of the capital.
In the Solomiansky district:
- Two people were affected by falling debris. Both had a sharp stress reaction. They received assistance on the spot;
- There is damage to a five-story building on the second floor. Two women were blocked from the first to the fifth floors;
- There was a fire on the territory of a kindergarten.
In the Dniprovskyi district of the city:
- Debris fell on the upper floors of a multi-story building. There was smoke. Emergency services arrived and began extinguishing the fire.
In the Holosiivskyi district:
- Debris fell into the area of green plantings. No casualties reported.
In the Pecherskyi district:
- Debris was recorded on the built-up territory. Preliminarily, no consequences were reported.
Attack on southern Ukraine
According to the operational command South, the anti-air defense has shot down three Shaheds-131/136, namely:
- one UAV in the territory of the Mykolaiv region;
- two UAVs in the territory of the Kirovohrad region.
Night attack on Kyiv
Tonight, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. Following this, the Kyiv City Military Administration warned of a drone attack and urged civilians not to ignore the air raid alert.
Closer to dawn, explosions were heard in several districts of the capital. Local authorities warned about the operation of air defense systems, and the Air Force reported the threat of kamikaze drone attacks on Kyiv from multiple directions. As noted by the mayor of the city, Vitaliy Klitschko, the Shahed drones are attacking the city in groups.
