Marco Rubio receives report on Russian drone activity in Poland

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed receiving information about Russian drones violating Polish airspace, according to CNN.
Responding to CNN, Rubio said “Yes” when asked if he had been briefed on the airspace violations by Russian drones during the attack on western Ukraine.
Poland reported that its military forces shot down several drones that had entered its airspace during the Russian strike on Ukraine.
Polish military command stated that weapons were used, and services are actively working to locate the downed objects.
Poland also closed several airports, including Warsaw International Airport, due to unplanned military activity related to national security.
This incident comes amid rising tensions from Russian aggression in Ukraine and the joint Russian-Belarusian military exercises Zapad-2025 near the Polish border.
Earlier, Poland announced the closure of its border with Belarus for national security reasons.
Polish Air Command confirmed that on the night of September 9–10, 2025, Russia carried out another series of massive strikes on targets in Ukraine. Around 01:13 on September 10, it was reported that hostile Shahed drones had left Ukrainian airspace and were detected over Poland.
Previously, on Saturday, September 6, an object, likely a drone, fell in eastern Poland, according to a Ministry of Defense representative.
On September 8, Polish border guards discovered fragments of an unidentified flying object in a village near the Belarusian border.
