Manufacturer of Ukraine's Flamingo missile unveils new strike drone, FP-2

Ukrainian company Fire Point has unveiled a new strike drone, the FP-2, designed to target frontline objectives, Militarnyi reports.
According to the news agency, the FP-2 is structurally similar to its predecessor, the long-range FP-1, which Ukrainian forces are already using to strike targets deep in Russian rear areas. However, the new drone’s range is 200 kilometers, compared to 1,400 km for its predecessor, and its warhead has been increased to 105 kilograms.
The new strike drone is available in two versions: one with autonomous guidance for hitting stationary targets, and another with manual control via radio link, designed for engaging moving objects.
According to the developers, the drone is already in use at the frontlines, and thanks to deep standardization with the serial FP-1, frontline deliveries can be accelerated. The manufacturers offer both a stationary system and a mobile installation disguised as a military truck.
The use of long-range drones with enhanced warheads is becoming increasingly in demand in modern combat. The Russian army is already employing upgraded Shahed-136 (Geran-2) drones to strike Ukrainian positions.
Drones equipped with thermal imagers and data transmission systems have been used against artillery crews and UAV operators. For flights beyond 50 km, they require relays, which can be provided by reconnaissance drones like the Russian Zala or the Ukrainian Shark.
Mass deployment of such drones with heavy warheads allows forces to compensate for a shortage of precision missiles, extend the strike radius to hundreds of kilometers, and overwhelm enemy air defense systems.
Flamingo missile
Fire Point also produces long-range Flamingo missiles, which can destroy targets at distances of up to 1,300 kilometers.
Yesterday, September 3, it was reported that fuel for these missiles will be manufactured in Denmark.
