Malaysian mercenaries spotted in occupied territories of Ukraine
Mercenaries from Malaysia, recruited by Russia for the war against Ukraine, have been spotted in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, according to the Center for National Resistance.
"Russians continue to gather mercenaries from all over the world to pursue their expansionist policies," the statement reads.
In the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, mercenaries from Malaysia, accompanied by an interpreter and former Wagner members, have been spotted. The militants are currently on the training ground.
The Center for National Resistance noted that Cuban, Nepalese, Belarusian, Serbian, and representatives of other countries where mercenarism is formally prohibited have also been repeatedly identified within the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces.
Mercenaries in the Russian army
Last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing foreigners who join the Russian army to obtain citizenship through an expedited process.
In September, Cuba reported that authorities were working to neutralize a network that operated both on Cuban soil and in Russia. Cuban authorities arrested 17 individuals who were enticing young Cuban men to serve in the Russian army for the war against Ukraine. They may face the death penalty.
Additionally, Nepal demanded Moscow not to recruit its citizens into the Russian army and immediately return all Nepalese citizens after it was revealed that six soldiers serving in the Russian army were killed.
