US President Donald Trump has once again issued threats against Cuba. In particular, he said that "there will be no more oil or money" going to the island and demanded that Havana "make a deal, before it is too late."
"Cuba lived, for many years, on large amounts of oil and money from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided 'Security Services' for the last two Venezuelan dictators, but not anymore!" he wrote.
Trump claimed that most of the Cuban specialists who were guarding Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro are "dead from last weeks US attack," and that "Venezuela doesn't need protection anymore from the thugs and extortionists who held them hostage for so many years."
"Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the World (by far!), to protect them, and protect them we will. There will be no more oil or money going to Cuba - zero! I strongly suggest they make a deal, before it is too late," the US President added.
On January 3, the US carried out a large-scale special operation in Venezuela, resulting in the detention of the country's leader, Nicolás Maduro. US forces transported him to America along with his wife, Cilia Flores.
During the US operation in Venezuela, 100 people were killed. The security personnel of the captured Nicolás Maduro were killed, as well as Cuban military personnel and intelligence officers. American forces suffered several wounded, most of whom have already returned to duty.
On the day of the operation, January 3, Trump hinted that Cuba could be next after Venezuela. At the same time, he assured that military action against Cuba was allegedly not being considered. Meanwhile, the US State Department sharply criticized the Cuban government, calling it a major problem.
