Macron invites Orbán to Paris for talks on Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for a visit. Their meeting will take place on Wednesday in Paris, Telex informs.
According to the news agency, Orbán will hold talks with Macron in Paris, with the main topic of discussion being the war between Russia and Ukraine.
It is worth recalling that last weekend, representatives of 18 countries, including the French president and the UK prime minister, gathered in London to discuss EU security issues. The meeting took place after the dispute between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
Orbán did not participate in the London summit and later stated that the meeting resulted in a decision to "continue the war in Ukraine."
Recently, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent a letter to European Council President António Costa, calling for direct negotiations between the EU and Russia to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Additionally, according to Politico, Hungary rejected a draft EU document on security guarantees and new military aid for Ukraine worth €20 billion during a meeting of EU ambassadors on Friday.
Moreover, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Ukraine's accession to the European Union is currently "unthinkable," arguing that it could have a devastating impact on Hungary’s economy.
