Losing weight without reducing breast and buttock size? Trainer's answer

Many people dream of losing excess weight while keeping attractive curves, especially the breasts and buttocks. But is that even possible, and what plays a key role in this process? This was explained by Ukrainian trainer and nutritionist Yurii Popko.
Why breasts shrink during weight loss
According to the expert, breasts are composed of muscles, mammary glands, and fat.
It’s important to understand that some people have larger mammary glands, and some have smaller ones. The same goes for fat—some have more, some less. So, the changes that happen during weight loss depend on how much fat is present.
If your breasts are mostly made of fat and the mammary glands are small, then as you lose weight, your body will burn fat all over, including in the breasts.
"But if you’re lucky—and only a small percentage of women fall into this group—and your breasts are mainly composed of large mammary glands with not much fat, then your breasts won’t respond as noticeably to weight fluctuations," the trainer explains.
So, the percentage of fat and the size of the mammary glands both play a significant role.
What to do so your buttocks don’t shrink when you lose weight
Even if you have a great figure and well-shaped buttocks, when losing weight, you need a calorie deficit. And since the buttocks mostly consist of fat, whether you like it or not, they will slim down.
"However, unlike breasts, you can work on your glutes. By building muscle, you can restore the shape of your buttocks—or even make them better," Popko said
On the other hand, you can’t increase the size of your mammary glands.
You need to work with added weights, ensure your body is getting enough protein, and follow a calorie surplus.
