Last month, losses of the Russian army increased by almost a third. Russia has been losing more soldiers than it is able to recruit for four consecutive months, UK Defense Secretary John Healey said at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
He stressed that the support provided through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has a direct impact on the battlefield.
He emphasized that this is largely due to Ukraine’s battle plan and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The UK minister said that Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin, ed.) wants the West to be distracted by the conflict in the Middle East, while he continues to attack Ukraine with thousands of drones and hundreds of missiles. He added that these attacks are killing civilians, destroying homes, and paralysing Ukraine’s infrastructure.
Healey added that Ukraine’s allies remember their responsibility to Kyiv and understand that Russian aggression is spreading across Europe.
This year, the UK will transfer at least 120,000 drones to Ukraine. This drone package will be the largest ever provided by the country throughout the full-scale war.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group that the IRIS-T air defence systems supplied by Germany to Ukraine will be supplemented with additional launchers.
