Lithuanian activists raise over €1 million to support Ukraine

Ahead of the third anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine, Lithuania has decided to repeat its solidarity campaign. A fundraising initiative by Lithuanian media has already raised over €1 million to support Ukraine, according to LRT.
According to the organizers of the Radarom! solidarity campaign, as of Monday morning, citizens and businesses in the country had donated €1,037,170.
Two-thirds of the funds raised will be used to purchase drones and anti-drone systems produced in Lithuania, while the remaining third will go toward acquiring equipment made in Ukraine.
The organizers also stated that the initiative started on February 3 and will continue until the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24.
This is the third solidarity campaign for Ukraine organized by Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) in collaboration with Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV, and Stiprūs kartu.
During the two previous campaigns, businesses and residents of Lithuania donated a total of €22.8 million, which was used to purchase:
- 17 radars
- 69 anti-drone systems
- 4 special vehicles for mobile radars
- 1,141 safety kits for military personnel
Lithuania’s support for Ukraine
Lithuania is one of Ukraine’s key allies and has been providing assistance to Kyiv since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Vilnius offers not only financial and humanitarian aid but also military support.
Earlier, Lithuania’s State Defense Council approved a decision to allocate at least 0.25% of its GDP to support Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in August last year, Lithuania sent a batch of 22 anti-drone systems to Ukraine as part of the"Radarom! campaign, completing the procurement of 1,141 anti-drone units for Ukrainian forces.
