Lithuania won't lift sanctions on Russia until Ukraine's integrity restored — Prime Minister

Lithuania will maintain sanctions against Russia and Belarus until Ukraine fully restores its territorial integrity, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Rugienė says at a briefing with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
"Our sanctions against Russia and its ally Belarus will remain in force until Ukraine's territorial integrity is restored and the damage caused by the war is compensated,” the Lithuanian Prime Minister stresses.
She emphasizes that those responsible for the aggression against Ukraine must be held accountable, which is why Lithuania supports the creation of a special tribunal, the work of the Register of Damages, and the EC's proposal to use frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.
"The ultimate goal is full compensation for all damages caused to Ukraine," Ruginienė says.
Rumors about lifting sanctions against Russia
In August, Sky News, citing sources, wrote that Ukraine's allies were considering lifting some of the sanctions against Russia.
According to the agency's interlocutors, the West discussed easing restrictions, but only if Russia agreed to a 15-day truce with Ukraine.
Also, in the spring of this year, Western media reported that the US authorities were considering lifting some sanctions against Russia, including those against Nord Stream 2.
