Lithuania ready for military deployment to Ukraine if conditions met

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda believes that countries that have joined the Coalition of the Willing must be prepared to send their armed forces to ensure security in Ukraine. He states that Lithuania is ready to contribute, LRT reports.
"We must be ready to deploy forces to ensure security in Ukraine as soon as the appropriate conditions are created," he says.
According to Nausėda, Lithuania is ready to contribute by providing military personnel and resources for the training of joint forces.
He stresses that Russia's war against Ukraine, which has been going on for 4 years, has a serious impact on security in Europe.
The Lithuanian President emphasizes that efforts to end the fighting should only take place on terms favorable to Ukraine and Europe, and that any negotiations cannot take place without the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
As the Lithuanian leader notes, it is impossible to demand that Ukraine surrender its territories; such a demand cannot be a precondition for a ceasefire.
"A comprehensive ceasefire without preconditions is the most important condition before the start of any real negotiations," Nausėda says.
