The Lithuanian government has approved an additional EUR 13 million to the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund. These funds will be used to finance projects to restore Ukraine.

Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė emphasized that Lithuania continues to actively support Ukraine in education, energy, and other important sectors. She also called on international partners to join these efforts to strengthen Ukrainians' faith in a secure and prosperous future.

Since the beginning of the war in 2022, Lithuania has already allocated €24 million through the Fund for Ukraine's recovery projects. These include the repair of educational institutions in Borodianka and Irpin, as well as the development of new initiatives such as the School of the Future project and rehabilitation programs for war-affected people.

The total amount of military, financial, and humanitarian assistance provided by Lithuania to Ukraine since the beginning of the war has reached almost 1.5 billion euros.

Lithuania's assistance to Ukraine

The Baltic States - Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia - continue to be one of Ukraine's most active partners, providing it with constant military support and facilitating its integration into the EU and NATO.

Recently it became known that Lithuania will transfer the Vilnius thermal power plant to Ukraine, which will be dismantled and delivered in parts. You can read more about this in RBC-Ukraine's article.

In addition, the Lithuanian company Ignitis Group has contributed EUR 4 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine. These funds will be used to purchase equipment to create 120 MW of capacity, which will help restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
