Launched from three directions: Air Force reveals details of night attack
On the night of December 31, Russian terrorists deployed 49 Shahed-136/131 drones against Ukraine. They launched them from three directions, reports the Air Force Telegram channel.
The enemy launched UAVs from three directions:
- Cape Chauda in Crimea
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia
- Kursk region in Russia
In total, the following were recorded:
- 49 Shahed-136/131 drones
- Six guided anti-aircraft missiles, S-300 type, used by the enemy to attack Kharkiv.
"The majority of the attack drones were directed towards the front line of defense, as well as towards civilian, military, and infrastructural objects in the frontline territories, particularly in the Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv regions, and Zaporizhzhia," as reported by the Air Force.
Night Attack on Ukraine on December 31
As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported, the air defense forces destroyed a total of 21 Russian drones that night. Defense forces in the south shot down 7 drones over the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
Around 1 a.m., explosions were heard in Kharkiv, and a fire broke out in the city center due to one of the explosions. Afterward, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported several drone strikes in downtown Kharkiv. The attack damaged buildings in the city center and disrupted water supply networks.
Additionally, in the Kherson region, several private houses in the Tiahynska community were damaged as a result of hits, and in the Odesa region, fragments of a downed UAV caused a fire in the coastal zone of the Odesa district.
