Night Shahed strike on Ukraine: General Staff reports on downed enemy targets
Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 21 enemy attack drones tonight, December 31, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Tonight, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using UAVs of the type Shahed-136/131. Our defenders destroyed 21 attack drones," the statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reads.
The exact number of enemy attack drones launched tonight has not been reported.
Shelling of Ukraine on the night of December 30 to 31
Russian Forces launched kamikaze drones and missiles into Ukrainian territory on December 30. Explosions were heard in several eastern, northern, and central regions.
Yesterday evening, Russians attacked the central part of Kharkiv. The Kharkiv Palace hotel and a residential building were among the targets, resulting in 26 reported casualties.
Additionally, explosions were heard during an air raid alarm in the Cherkasy region and Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of enemy drone attacks.
During the night of December 31, reports indicated Air Defense Forces operating in the Khmelnytskyi region and Zaporizhzhia. Earlier, there was a threat of the use of Shahed drones in these regions.
