Ukraine will receive another 21 domestically produced Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers from Latvia, according to the Latvian Ministry of Defense.
Today, November 5, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds is hosting Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, who arrived in Latvia to discuss defense cooperation between the two countries.
According to the ministry, at the Ādaži military base in Latvia, 21 Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers equipped with NATO-standard 12.7 mm support machine guns and ammunition will be handed over to the Ukrainian defense minister.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will also receive spare parts, special repair tools, and equipment necessary for maintaining the armored vehicles, as well as a container-type mobile repair workshop and maintenance documentation.
Repair kits for fixing combat damage to the armored vehicles will also be supplied.
"The donation of Latvian-made armored personnel carriers is a significant show of support for Ukraine’s defenders and an opportunity to test the strength and capabilities of Latvian armored vehicles in real combat conditions," Spruds noted.

The Patria 6x6 armored personnel carrier was developed in Finland, with serial production established in Latvia, where the Defence Partnership Latvia company has been operating since 2024. The plant’s capacity allows for the production of up to 160 units per year. The Patria 6x6 is in service with the armed forces of Finland, Sweden, and Latvia.
The vehicle is primarily designed for troop transport but can be adapted for other missions. Depending on the configuration, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can equip the Patria 6x6 with machine guns, 25/30 mm combat modules, or the 120 mm Patria Nemo mortar system.
The total weight of the armored vehicle is about 24 tons, with up to 8.5 tons of payload capacity. Its maximum speed is up to 100 km/h.
Back in February of this year, the Latvian Ministry of Defense announced that it had ordered Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers for delivery to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In July, Ukraine received the first batch of Patria 6x6 armored vehicles from Latvia. In total, 42 vehicles have already been delivered.
