Kyiv under Russian drone attack - Power cuts and house fire reported

On the morning of October 22, Russian occupation forces once again launched a drone attack on Kyiv. During the strike, explosions were heard in the city, power disruptions were reported, and a house caught fire, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the outlet’s own correspondent.
At 04:48 AM Kyiv time, another air raid alert sounded in Kyiv, the fourth since midnight, due to the threat of a drone attack.
Starting from 04:47 AM Kyiv time, the Ukrainian Air Force detected groups of drones heading toward the capital, while air defense systems were actively operating in the region.
"Kyiv region! Enemy UAVs detected in the airspace. Air defense is engaging targets. Stay in shelters until the end of the air raid alert. Take care of your safety," the message at 04:54 AM Kyiv time read.
Shortly afterward, several local channels reported explosions in Kyiv. By 05:30 AM Kyiv time, the blasts could be faintly heard even in the city center, and power disruptions were observed following a series of explosions.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, later confirmed that a residential building was on fire.
"In the Dnipro district, as a result of the enemy attack, a fire broke out between the 8th and 9th floors of a multi-story building. Information on casualties is being verified," he wrote.
The Air Force also reported a ballistic missile threat at that time.
"There is a threat of ballistic missile use from the Kursk region in areas where air raid alerts have been declared," the statement said.

As of 05:48 AM Kyiv time, air raid alerts remained active across much of the country, including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
