Kyiv under ballistic attack as Russia strikes capital

Russian forces launched ballistic missiles at Kyiv on the night of August 8. Between six and eight explosions were heard in the city, according to the information from Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the Kyiv City Military Administration, and the State Emergency Service.
The air raid alert was activated only one minute before the missile strike. The alert has now been canceled in Kyiv.
At 03:34 Kyiv time, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that, according to preliminary information, a fire had broken out on the premises of a non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district as a result of the attack.
In the Obolonskyi district, a fire was reported at fuel storage tanks.
Emergency services are heading to the scene, the mayor of Kyiv said.
At 05:45, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that four people had been injured as a result of the enemy strike. Relevant services are working to manage the aftermath of the night shelling.
At 06:34, rescuers from the State Emergency Service provided further details on the consequences of the attack. According to the agency, the fire engulfed garages and non-residential buildings in the Holosiivskyi district. In the Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out on the premises of an enterprise.

What else is known about the attacks on the capital
On the night of August 5, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv using missiles and drones. One person was killed, and more than 20 were injured. Targets hit included Epicentr, ROZETKA, and Nova Poshta.
Also in Kyiv, on Saturday evening, August 1, rescuers completed emergency rescue operations following the attack that had occurred that night. As a result of the Russian occupiers' strike, nine people died in the city. Another 33 people were injured, including four children. Rescuers managed to save 105 people.
As a result of the August 1 attack, damage and destruction were recorded in five districts of the capital: Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Pecherskyi. In some buildings, residents were trapped as a result of the strikes.
