Powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv for the second time during the night. The capital is under a massive attack by Russian Shahed strike drones, according to a local correspondent and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The explosions were heard on the right bank of the city at 03:10 a.m. Kyiv time.

The military reported the movement of enemy drones in the Chernihiv region heading toward the Kyiv region.

Enemy drones were also moving southwest across the Kyiv region.

Around 03:00 Kyiv time, monitoring channels reported that some of the drones heading toward the Zhytomyr region had turned back toward Kyiv.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that cars caught fire in a parking lot in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district. Firefighters are responding to the situation.

Russian air attack

On the night of September 7, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine using Shahed kamikaze drones. Air raid alerts have been issued in the majority of regions, and air defense systems are active.

Explosions were first heard in the capital the previous evening around 23:00 Kyiv time.

Earlier, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia and its region for the second time in 24 hours, with explosions reported in the city.

Explosions were also heard in Dnipro amid the UAV attacks.
