In the early hours of November 25, Kyiv came under a massive attack using cruise and ballistic missiles, kamikaze drones, and aviation.

RBC-Ukraine reports everything known about the shelling in Ukraine that night.

Attack overview

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from the Novorossiysk area, and fast-moving targets approached Kyiv via the Chernihiv region.

Additional groups of cruise missiles were detected over the Cherkasy region heading toward Kaniv and in the south of the Kirovohrad region, moving north.

Enemy drones were also spotted in the air, and ballistic missiles and Kinzhal missiles were launched toward Kyiv.

Authorities’ response and air defenses

Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko emphasized that the strike on Kyiv was of a combined nature, and air defenses were actively engaging enemy targets.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported enemy drones over the Obolonskyi district and ongoing missile movements toward the capital.

Impact on civilians

According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS), four people were injured in the attack on Kyiv, and nine residents were rescued.

In the Pecherskyi district, enemy missiles hit a 22-story residential building on the 4th–5th floors, with additional damage on the 4th, 5th, and 7th floors. A fire on the 5th floor was extinguished, one injured person was rescued, and debris clearance and search operations are ongoing.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a 9-story building sustained damage and fire on the 6th–7th floors; eight people were rescued, and four others sought medical assistance independently.

At another location in Kyiv, a 2-story building was hit, but no fire occurred. In the Darnytskyi district, debris fell in an open area of the private sector.

Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko reported that as of 04:27, one fatality had been confirmed during the Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital.

Infrastructure impact

In some areas of Kyiv, there have been disruptions to the electricity and water supply. Emergency services are responding promptly to all incidents, containing fires, and assisting those affected.

The Ministry of Energy reported that during the night of November 25, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities, which will require rapid damage assessment and subsequent preparation for restoration work.

In Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, one person was killed in the shelling by Russian forces, and among the injured was a 14-year-old girl. The attacks affected peaceful settlements in the region.

Kyiv was subjected to a massive missile strike on the night of November 25, and rescue services have already released initial data on recorded damage and the consequences of the attack across different districts of the capital.
