Kyiv region hit by Russian attacks, leaving deaths and extensive destruction

Two people were killed in another massive Russian attack on the Kyiv region on September 5. Dozens of civilian sites were damaged or destroyed across five districts of the region, according to Kyiv Regional State Administration chief Tymur Tkachenko.
Outcomes of Russian strikes
Two residents of Bucha district were killed in this recent Russian attack.
As of 6 p.m., damage to 28 sites had been reported across five districts of the region.
The damaged property included:
- Private homes and apartment buildings
- Warehouses
- Railway tracks
- Agricultural company grounds
- Vehicles.
In Fastiv district, the attacks sparked a fire, which emergency service crews were called in to extinguish.
No casualties were reported in this district, according to data from the regional administration.
"Today, Kyiv region once again came under enemy attack. Sadly, two people were killed in Bucha district. That's the worst part. Behind every such report is a human life, a family, and loved ones who are experiencing unbearable pain today," Administration Chief Tkachenko said.
The regional administration chief urged residents to stay safe and take air raid alerts seriously. Emergency and rescue crews continue to work at the sites of the attacks and document the damage.
Previous attacks, negotiations
Earlier, Russian forces launched an attack on Sofiivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv, sparking a fire at warehouse facilities.
In another strike on the capital, debris from downed drones fell in four city districts. At the time, the number of people injured rose to 14, including a child.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine and Russia had mutually agreed to refrain from attacks on Kyiv and Moscow while negotiations involving the US side are underway.
