During a nighttime attack on Kyiv, a mobile fire team from the capital's police shot down one of the Russian drones. The unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed with a precise shot at one of the city's locations, informs the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv.

"The target has been hit," the Kyiv police mobile fire unit said. They destroyed one of the enemy UAVs that attacked the capital last night, according to law enforcement officials.

According to the National Police, officers successfully eliminated the drone with an accurate shot at one of Kyiv's locations.

"We stand guard, protecting the sky," the police added.

Russian attack on Kyiv

On the evening of May 23, Ukrainian forces detected enemy strike drones moving toward the capital.

Initially, Russian Shaheds were spotted over the Kyiv region. After that, explosions were heard across the city and the region as air defense forces engaged.

On the night of May 24, Russia launched one of the largest attacks on Kyiv. The enemy simultaneously used ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.

According to the Air Force of Ukraine, 14 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type and 250 strike drones were launched over Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed six missiles and shot down 245 drones.

Notably, the Russian nighttime attack caused damage to residential buildings, schools, and a medical facility in Kyiv.
