Kyiv officials discuss operation of air defense systems during Shahed attack
That night, all enemy kamikaze drones launched by Russian forces to strike Kyiv were neutralized by air defense forces and resources. Meanwhile, fires broke out in the capital due to the falling debris from the drones, states the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.
The administration noted that this aerial attack by the enemy on Ukraine was the 18th since the beginning of October.
The Kyiv City Military Administration informed that air raid alerts were declared twice overnight in Kyiv, lasting a total of more than four hours.
"Enemy drones approached the capital from various directions, but they were timely detected and neutralized by air defense forces and resources," the official stated.
Consequences
According to preliminary reports, as a result of the drone attack by the Russian army, debris has fallen in the Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital.
In the Solomianskyi district, there was a rupture of a gas pipe on the facade of a nine-story residential building.
This led to a fire in a store.
"Three parked cars also caught fire. The fire has been extinguished," reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

He also mentioned that five injured individuals sought medical assistance, with one person hospitalized.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris from the enemy's drone shattered windows in a three-story administrative building.
"There have been no reports of injuries," the official added.

On the night of October 29, Russian forces launched strike drones against Ukraine as part of an aerial attack. The capital also became a target in this drone strike.

Subsequently, reports emerged of debris from Russian drones falling in the Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital. Fires were reported, and there were initial reports of casualties.
