Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv, June 17

During the night of June 17, Russian forces launched a massive assault on Ukraine, firing around 500 attack drones and dozens of missiles.

In Kyiv, the Solomianskyi district was hit the hardest — a Kh-101 missile struck a nine-story residential building, completely destroying one of the entrances. A fire also broke out in a nearby five-story building.

In addition, the Darnytskyi, Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital were also targeted. Overall, damage was recorded at no fewer than 27 locations across the city.

According to UN mission estimates, this could be the deadliest attack on Kyiv in the past year.
