An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv during the night of January 28, with air defense systems activated. The aftermath of the drone attack was recorded in the Holosiivskyi district, according to Kyiv City State Administration head Tymur Tkachenko on Telegram.
The air raid alert lasted nearly two hours, from 01:00 to 02:45 Kyiv time.
According to Tkachenko, fragments of a drone initially fell onto a road in the Holosiivskyi district.
Later, reports emerged of window damage to a residential building in the Holosiivskyi district caused by falling drone fragments.
There were also initial reports of a fire on the roof of a non-residential building, but this was soon disproven.
“At this location, the roof of an apartment building was damaged,” Tkachenko clarified.
Drone and missile attack on Kyiv on the night of January 24
On the night of January 24, Russia carried out another large-scale combined attack across Ukraine, using various types of missiles and strike drones.
Kyiv suffered the most severe damage: five districts recorded destruction and damage to residential and non-residential buildings. On the left bank of the city, heating and water supply were disrupted, leaving nearly 6,000 homes without heating.
According to Yuriy Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, during the attack, Russia used cruise missiles X-22/X-32, unusual in recent months, launched from Tu-22M3 strategic bombers.
The Kyiv City State Administration reported the following damage:
Desnianskyi district: debris fell on a non-residential building.
Dniprovskyi district: drone fragments caused a fire at a garage cooperative; a fuel truck also caught fire in the parking lot. Windows in a multi-story residential building were shattered by debris.
Darnytskyi district: drone fragments fell near a private medical facility, damaging windows.
Holosiivskyi district: fragments fell on non-residential sites, causing a fire; at another address, windows of a private home were blown out.
Solomianskyi district: fragments damaged a six-story office building, causing material losses.
