Kyiv hit by Russian attack, leaving two dead and others injured

As a result of the massive missile strike on Kyiv on the night of August 20, one person was killed and several other civilians were injured, according to a statement by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA).
According to operational information from the city authorities, the first confirmed data on the victims of the enemy attack appeared after midnight.
"As of 00:55 Kyiv time, three people are known to have been injured in the enemy attack. One fatality has also been reported," the KMVA said.
Emergency services, medical teams, and rescuers continue to operate at the sites of falling debris and strikes in several districts of the capital.

On the night of August 20, Russian forces launched an attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles, resulting in explosions in the capital. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had warned residents about the threat of strikes from the northern direction.
On the same day, Ukrainians were warned about Russia's preparation for new shelling. In particular, it was noted that the Russian leadership is not inclined toward peace, and citizens were urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to proceed to shelters promptly in the event of danger.
