Kyiv death toll rises after massive missile and drone attack

On the night of April 24, Russians launched a massive attack on Kyiv with rockets and drones. The latest reports confirm that the number of casualties has increased, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
"Preliminary data shows that 9 people have died, 63 have been injured, and 42 have been hospitalized, including 6 children," the message states.
Emergency services informed that there has been destruction in residential buildings, and search efforts for people trapped under the rubble are ongoing.
The State Emergency Service also reported that fires broke out in garages, administrative buildings, and non-residential structures. Additionally, cars and dry grass were set on fire by debris, but firefighters have extinguished the flames.
As of now, efforts to clear the aftermath of the overnight attack continue in five districts of the capital.
"Psychologists and sniffer dogs from the State Emergency Service are working on-site," the message states.

This night and morning, Russian forces attacked Kyiv and several other Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles. Russia carried out two attacks.
The Mayor of Kharkiv and the Head of the Kyiv Military Administration reported that the consequences of Russia's attack were observed in the Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts. This included fires, damage, and more.
As of 01:40 AM Kyiv time, there were five casualties in the capital, including a child. Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed that the child, a three-year-old, was hospitalized.
Later, the number of casualties increased, and by 03:38 AM Kyiv time, it was reported that one person had died. According to the latest data from the State Emergency Service, there were two fatalities and 54 people injured. Of those, 38 were hospitalized, including 6 children. Others received assistance on-site.
