Nine confirmed dead in Kyiv after overnight attack by the Russian army. The rubble is still being cleared, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko and Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"Another victim of Russian terror. Rescuers have recovered the body of the ninth victim of the enemy strike," Tkachenko said.

He added that rescue operations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, Klitschko said that eight bodies were pulled from the rubble of a five-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

"Rescuers are still searching for a child who was in the apartment with the mother. The woman's body has been recovered. The search and rescue operation continues," the mayor specified.

According to Klitschko, four injured remain hospitalized in Kyiv, including two children and a pregnant woman.

Tkachenko clarified that the ninth victim of the Russian strike on Kyiv was an 11-year-old girl.

"Earlier, the body of her mother was also recovered from the rubble," he added.

Attack on Kyiv

On the night of June 23, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with missiles and drones.

In particular, in the Shevchenkivskyi district, one of the missiles hit a five-story residential building. The attack completely destroyed one of the entrances.
