Rescuers have recovered the body of another victim from the rubble of a residential building in Kyiv's Podilskyi district, bringing the death toll from Russia's massive overnight attack on the Ukrainian capital to 15, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service and Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

"The body of another person has been pulled from the rubble of a high-rise building in the Podilskyi district. This brings the death toll from the Russian strike on the capital to 14," the statement said.

According to the State Emergency Service, 56 people were injured in the attack, including seven children.

Search and rescue operations are continuing at two damaged residential buildings in Kyiv's Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts.

"Unfortunately, the death toll from the Russian attack has risen to 15. Rescuers have recovered the body of a woman from the rubble," Tkachenko said.

The Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts suffered the heaviest destruction in the attack. Meanwhile, residents are still being evacuated from the town of Vyshneve due to the risk of secondary explosions.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also said that an entire family was killed in the overnight ballistic missile attack on Kyiv.

Ukraine's air defenses were unable to intercept any of the ballistic missiles launched during the attack due to a shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry once again claimed the strike had targeted only military facilities. In reality, Russian missiles struck residential neighborhoods.
