Kyiv attack hits residential building: initial damage reported

In the early hours of February 12, the enemy once again attempted to attack peaceful Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv. At the time of this report, the attack on the capital is ongoing, according to a post by Kyiv mayor Vitalii Klitschko, as well as the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

Kyiv hit by massive ballistic attack
Kyiv experienced a large-scale attack by enemy ballistic missiles, damaging residential and non-residential buildings. Information on casualties is still being confirmed. Medical teams have been dispatched to affected areas, and residents are urged to stay in shelters.
During the early hours of February 12, the Ukrainian Air Forces also reported the movement of drones toward Kyiv.

In the Darnytskyi district, a private residential building was reportedly hit; assessments of casualties and damage are ongoing.

Medical teams have already responded to calls in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts to assist the injured. Emergency services continue documenting the aftermath and supporting those affected.

Context of recent attacks
On the same night, February 12, Russia carried out a massive drone attack on Odesa and its surrounding district. An air raid alert was declared around 00:08, and residents were urged to seek shelter immediately.
On February 11, Russia launched another missile strike in Ukraine, including near Lviv, where the air defense system successfully intercepted a Kinzhal missile. Residents were warned to take cover, and explosions were reported minutes later.
