Kyiv and Washington work for peace in Ukraine despite Russia's terror - Foreign Ministry

Ukraine and the United States will continue negotiations to end the full-scale war, although Russia is only demonstrating terror, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi says.
"As for the Ukraine-US contact, we continue to work regularly. We are convinced that there will be more rounds of negotiations. We emphasize that Ukraine agreed to a complete ceasefire 36 days ago," Tykhyi said.
He reminded that Russia, in turn, refused to accept a complete ceasefire and instead puts forward its demands, ultimatums, and continues to terrorize Ukrainian civilians.
According to Tykhyi, Ukraine is interested in peace like no other country and has demonstrated constructive engagement with Washington. It also counts on the Kremlin to be constructive.
"And we are convinced that we need to increase pressure on Russia so that Moscow starts to take peace seriously, and not to ignore the proposals and disregard not only Ukraine, but also the United States and other international partners who call for peace," he added.
Negotiating a complete ceasefire
In recent months, the United States has held a series of separate meetings with representatives of Ukraine and Russia in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
During the dialogue, the parties also discussed a complete ceasefire. Kyiv, in turn, supported this step, but Russia ultimately rejected it because the agreement "will not solve Moscow's problems."
At the same time, the Kremlin agreed to a mutual cessation of attacks on energy facilities. One way or another, since then, Russians have been launching drones against Ukraine almost every night. Energy infrastructure has also come under attack.
