Kyiv Administration clarified consequences of night attack by Russian Shahed drones
On the night of October 21, Russian forces once again attacked Kyiv with Shahed-type strike drones. Debris from the downed drones damaged buildings and caused a fire, resulting in at least one injury, reports Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
According to him, around ten Russian drones approached the capital from various directions. However, the Defense Forces neutralized all drones threatening the city.
Specifically, debris was reported to have fallen in the Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts of the city.
In the Dniprovskyi district, an electrical cable was reportedly damaged, but there have been no reports of injuries.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a multi-apartment residential building sustained partial damage to wall finishes and had broken windows. There was no destruction or fire, and no casualties were reported.
In the Solomianskyi district, debris caused a fire on the roof of a one-story residential building, which has been contained. No casualties were found.
Additionally, a man in the Solomianskyi district suffered facial burns as a result of the attack. The injured person refused hospitalization.
Shahed attack
The Russian army continues to launch massive drone attacks on Ukraine every night.
On the evening of October 20, Russian forces once again launched Shahed drones from the northeast and south.
An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv at 12:07 a.m. Kyiv time. Shortly after, a series of explosions were heard in the capital as air defense forces engaged. Explosions occurred multiple times throughout the night.
The all-clear was announced at 5:13 a.m., meaning the air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for over five hours.
