Kuleba and Borrell discuss EU's potential for supplying Patriot systems to Ukraine
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba today, March 25, discussed with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the possibilities of strengthening Ukraine's air defense systems, according to the X page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Minister informed Borrell about the strikes of Russian ballistic missiles on the Ukrainian capital and other cities.
He also stated that he appreciates Borrell's support and concern regarding the number of Russian missiles launched at Ukraine.
"I stressed the importance of delivering more Patriot and other air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles to Ukraine," Kuleba wrote.
EU's capabilities regarding the supply of Patriot air defense systems
According to Kuleba, Ukraine is currently the only country in the world that practically faces ballistic missile attacks daily.
The Minister added that Patriots should be deployed here and now to save human lives, rather than remain in places where the missile threat is zero.
"We discussed what the EU can do to help Ukraine get more Patriots and other air defense systems ASAP," wrote the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Shelling of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Mykolaiv
After the massive shelling of Ukraine on March 22, Kharkiv was left without electricity. The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, announced the destruction of thermal power plants and transformer substations.
According to the mayor of Kharkiv, on the third day after the Russian attack, electricity was restored to 40% of consumers.
On the night of March 25, explosions were heard in Odesa. Residents of some districts were left without electricity and water. It was reported that air defense forces were in action. Later it became known that during the drone kamikaze attacks on Odesa and the region, the Russians damaged objects of the energy infrastructure.
As for Mykolaiv, fires started there due to the Russian attack. 11 people were injured, two of whom were hospitalized.
Already this morning, air raid sirens were sounded in some regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv and the region. The Air Force warned of a ballistic threat. Almost immediately, explosions were heard in Kyiv.
As reported by the State Emergency Service, as of 19:00, there were 10 casualties, including a 16-year-old girl. Two of them were hospitalized.
