Russian forces carried out a strike using attack drones on an infrastructure facility in Kryvyi Rih shortly before midnight on January 14, according to a post by the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.
"Russia has once again carried out a massive Shahed drone attack on an infrastructure facility. Thank God, there are no casualties. We will work to restore the damage," Vilkul said.
He noted that shortly before the strike, Ukraine’s Air Force had warned about drones moving toward Kryvyi Rih.
"Groups of UAVs along the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions heading toward Kryvyi Rih and Kazanka," the Air Force wrote at 10:31 PM.
At 00:57 AM Kyiv time, Vilkul reported explosions caused by a Russian strike on an infrastructure facility and addressed city residents:
"I ask you to store water and charge your devices if possible. It will be difficult," the official wrote.
Earlier, on January 12, Russian forces attacked infrastructure facilities in Kryvyi Rih with attack drones, with explosions heard across the city.
Russian forces recently carried out one of the largest combined attacks on Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk region since the start of the full-scale invasion. The strikes hit several locations during the day and evening on January 7.
Eight people were injured in that attack, two of whom were hospitalized. Residents also experienced disruptions to water, heating, and electricity supplies.
Russian forces regularly target Kryvyi Rih, with strikes recorded several times a month and, during periods of escalation, weekly or in successive waves over several days. Attacks involve ballistic and cruise missiles as well as Shahed-type attack drones, often in combined nighttime strikes targeting the city, residential areas, and infrastructure.
