Kremlin sets condition for Putin-Zelenskyy meeting

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin is possible as a result of specific agreements.
“There are no changes in the position on the possibility of such a meeting. But such a meeting should be the result of specific agreements between the two delegations in various areas. In this regard, there are no changes in our position,” Peskov said.
He added that the draft memorandums between Russia and Ukraine will soon become public. The Russian document is already at the final stage. After that, “we will talk about the next stage of negotiations.”
Ukraine-Russia talks in Türkiye
On May 16, direct talks were held between representatives of Ukraine and Russia for the first time in several years. Ukraine's delegation was headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, while the Russian one was headed by Putin's aide Vladimir Medinsky.
Zelenskyy also arrived in Türkiye to meet with Putin, but the latter ignored the call for face-to-face talks.
During the dialog, the delegations agreed to a large exchange of prisoners of war in the 1,000-for-1,000 format. The swap took place in three stages over the weekend.
Russia claims that it would like to hold the next round of talks again in Türkiye.
