Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for dialogue "with everyone, including the European Union." At the same time, Moscow does not want to act as the initiator of negotiations, spokesperson for dictator Dmitry Peskov said, TASS reports.

According to a Kremlin representative, Vladimir Putin is ready for negotiations with all sides, including the European Union.

At the same time, Peskov emphasized that the aggressor country does not plan to independently propose the restoration of ties.

"Russia will not initiate contacts with the European Union on its own, although it is ready to move forward in dialogue as much as Europe is ready for this," he noted.

Negotiations with Russia

The media previously wrote that the administration of the Russian president began working at the beginning of the year on the so-called image of victory to justify a future peace agreement with Ukraine.

Yesterday, May 7, assistant to the president Yuri Ushakov called the trilateral peace negotiations inappropriate and stated that for continuation of talks, Ukraine must withdraw troops from part of Donbas under its control.

At the same time, the team of the President of Ukraine reacted to these statements and said that Ushakov's statement demonstrates the Kremlin's unwillingness to end the war even in the case of control over Donbas.

Yesterday, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov arrived in the United States for a meeting with American officials. In Miami, he will discuss the diplomatic process, among other things.
