The Kremlin is preparing for upcoming negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main topic of discussion will be the process of ending the war in Ukraine, Interfax reports.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that ahead of the phone conversation between Trump and Putin, issues on the agenda of US-Russian relations are being worked out. The primary one is the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

"Certain topics that are on the agenda are being prepared as usual... These are issues relevant at the moment, and primarily, of course, the issue of Ukrainian settlement. The president will be provided with talking points," Peskov noted.

Putin’s spokesperson also revealed how long it took to arrange the conversation between the two presidents.

"Such conversations can be coordinated very quickly," the Kremlin representative stated.

Putin-Trump talks

US President Donald Trump announced today, March 17, his plans to hold a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The call is expected to take place tomorrow, March 18.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the talks between Trump and Putin could indeed take place tomorrow.

The key topic of recent discussions between the US and Russia has been Washington’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.

Additionally, US President Donald Trump expects the negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin to be successful and productive. This was stated by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

"President Trump will have a very productive conversation with Putin at the appropriate time, rooted in his unwavering commitment to peace," she noted.
