North Korean soldiers will not participate in the Moscow parade for Victory Day. Pyongyang will send only the ambassador, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.

Ushakov reports that soldiers from 13 countries will take part in the parade:

  • Azerbaijan

  • Vietnam

  • Belarus

  • Egypt

  • Kazakhstan

  • PRC (People’s Republic of China)

  • Kyrgyzstan

  • Laos

  • Mongolia

  • Myanmar

  • Tajikistan

  • Turkmenistan

  • Uzbekistan

In response to the question of whether North Korean military personnel will be present there, he stated that he "named all the countries."

"The DPRK will be represented at the ambassadorial level," Ushakov said.

Participation of the DPRK in the war against Ukraine

North Korea sent its soldiers to Russia to help Moscow in the war against Ukraine. DPRK troops are participating in combat operations on the territory of the Kursk region.

According to data from South Korean intelligence, Pyongyang sent a total of 15,000 soldiers to the Russian Federation. North Korea’s losses amount to 4,700 military personnel, among them 600 killed.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in April that North Korea had lost about 4,000 soldiers in battles against Ukrainian defenders, of whom more than 3,000 were seriously wounded.
