KNDS tank producer announces opening branch in Ukraine
The Franco-German arms group KNDS is officially establishing a subsidiary in Ukraine this Friday, reports Le Figaro.
According to the media, KNDS is one of the main European players in the field of ground weapons. It produces artillery systems, battle tanks, and CAESAR guns, which France supplies to Kyiv.
This subsidiary will produce military equipment and ammunition on Ukrainian territory, French and German Defense Ministers Sébastien Lecornu and Boris Pistorius said in late March.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sébastien Lecornu are to visit the location of the weapons group in Versailles near Paris today.
Weapons production in Ukraine
Back in March 2024, Paris and Berlin reached an agreement to allow the French-German company KNDS to set up a branch in Ukraine.
Besides, the German defense concern Rheinmetall will open a joint air defense production facility in Ukraine.
