Kirby urges House of Representatives to vote on aid for Ukraine and Israel
White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby believes that the United States House of Representatives should promptly bring to a vote the issue of funding for Israel and Ukraine.
According to him, the House of Representatives has sufficient votes to approve funding for Israel and Ukraine.
"You and I both know the votes are there. But we're just looking for leadership out of the speaker's office: get it on the floor, get it voted on so that not only Israel can get additional resources and defend itself — which they clearly need — but that Ukraine can as well," he added.
US aid to Ukraine
The US has run out of funds for providing aid to Ukraine, and the issue of allocating new funds has been under consideration by Congress since last fall. Progress on the matter occurred in February when the Senate passed a bill providing funds for aid to Ukraine, Israel, and other US partners. However, the House of Representatives has yet to consider the document.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the US House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, expects the bill to be considered this week. In his opinion, the document will receive overwhelming support from members of Congress.
