Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group comments on Easter ceasefire

On the evening of April 19, Russia declared an Easter ceasefire. Currently, Ukrainian forces are conducting defensive operations and responding only to attacks from the Russian army, states the spokesperson of Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group, Nazar Voloshyn.
"We are conducting a defensive operation and responding only to attacks and assault actions by the enemy, as well as to their fire impact on our positions," Voloshyn said.
He noted that the Ukrainian army would respond to Russian actions if they violate the ceasefire announced by Russia itself.
"The actions of our defenders and, in general, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are and will be mirrored and will act rationally, responding mirror-like to every Russian strike," the military official explained.
What preceded this
Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the Easter ceasefire. According to him, it will last for 30 hours, from 18:00 Kyiv time yesterday until 00:00 on April 21.
According to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the number of battles on the front increased from 59 (at 16:00) to 107 (at 22:00). The most active areas were Pokrovsk and Kursk.
We also reported that during the night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Putin indeed ordered a reduction in the number of strikes. Specifically, the number of combat actions and killings has decreased. However, the words about the ceasefire do not apply to the Kursk and Belgorod regions. There, fighting continues.
