Kharkiv hit by Russian bombs: 30+ apartment buildings damaged, people may be trapped

As a result of Russian strikes with guided aerial bombs on Monday, October 5, more than 30 apartment buildings were damaged in Kharkiv, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
"Unfortunately, three people have been confirmed dead. Among them are employees of our utility company who were at home," he said.
Terekhov said Russian guided bombs struck near residential apartment buildings, damaging more than 30 high-rise buildings.
In addition, a strike hit a private residential area, damaging more than 20 private houses. A warehouse facility was also hit.
"The search and rescue operation is ongoing. There are people trapped under the rubble at a car service station," the mayor said.
Later, Terekhov reported that the bodies of two more people killed were found under the rubble of a sewing workshop. This brought the death toll from the Russian attack to five.
Earlier, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. The strikes caused fires at warehouse facilities and damaged residential buildings.
At least 39 people are currently known to have been injured in the Russian strike on Kharkiv. Medics, police officers and rescuers continue to work at the site of the attack.
Yesterday evening, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with Banderol loitering munitions. One of them struck an apartment building in the Industrialnyi district. One person was killed and six others were injured in the attack.
