Kharkiv city center under Russian attack: Consequences revealed
Late yesterday evening, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kharkiv, the third attack on the city in 24 hours. The enemy hit the city center, targeting residential buildings and a scientific institution.
Sources used: the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Police Volodymyr Tymoshko, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Police Investigation Department Serhii Bolvinov, and local media.
No sooner had Kharkiv recovered from the Russian massive missile strike on the morning of January 23, than it was hit by another attack around 10 p.m. The enemy fired on Kyivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts, having previously used S-300s from the territory of the Belgorod region of Russia.
It is currently known that 9 people were injured in the evening attack, including 1 child - a 4-year-old girl, who was treated on the spot. In addition, 4 people were hospitalized - 2 men and 2 women. Their condition is moderate.
Private houses, educational buildings, office premises, postal and telecommunications facilities, cars, cafes, pharmacies, and other exclusively civilian infrastructure were damaged in the city.
The second hit was near the Cathedral of the Annunciation, where the Russians hit two buildings at once, destroying the roof and breaking windows.
The police already called yesterday one of the most difficult days for Kharkiv since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war.
"One of the most difficult days for the city since February 24, but it has passed, as everything related to (Russia - ed.) will pass. We have survived and we will survive," writes Volodymyr Tymoshko, the chief of the Kharkiv police.
Meanwhile, local media notes that yesterday a historic building by architect Serhii Zahoskin, which was built almost 130 years ago, was hit in Kharkiv. It is located on Pushkinska Street, right in the center of Kharkiv. Earlier, two rockets hit the street. One of them hit the roof of the building.

Yesterday morning, during a massive missile attack, the Russians launched two strikes on Kharkiv: at around 4:00 and 7:15 a.m. The enemy fired from S-300, Kh-22 (Kh-32), and Iskander systems. A multi-story building in Saltivskyi district suffered the greatest damage. In particular, a mother and child were killed in the rubble, and more than 60 people were injured in the morning missile attack. In addition, a fire broke out on a gas pipeline in the town.
The third Russian shelling took place in Kharkiv yesterday after 10 p.m. In particular, the city center was hit. As of now, there are 9 victims, including a 4-year-old child.
