A bridge linking Donetsk and Mariupol in Russian-occupied territory was destroyed overnight. Traffic can no longer pass through the crossing, forcing Russian occupation authorities to reroute vehicles, according to Petro Andryushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation.

What happened overnight

The bridge on the Mariupol–Donetsk highway (H20/R280) near the village of Kremenivka suffered critical damage. It had already been partially damaged earlier, but overnight it was completely destroyed.

Photos from the scene show that one of the bridge spans collapsed.

The route from Mariupol toward Donetsk via the bridge is now completely closed to traffic.

Occupation authorities have redirected vehicles through the village of Kremenivka, adding at least 15–20 kilometers (9–12 miles) to the journey.

Ukrainian forces have been systematically targeting logistics infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories in an effort to disrupt Russian military supply lines and complicate the delivery of troops, equipment, and supplies to the front.

This is not the only recent strike on Russian occupation infrastructure. Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on additional attacks in occupied territories that triggered panic among Russian forces.

RBC-Ukraine also previously explained why growing panic in occupied Crimea following recent Ukrainian strikes is not unfounded and what is driving it.
