The United States will not resume military assistance to Ukraine until minerals deal is signed, stated US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg during a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations.

"My point would be, and my personal belief be, you don’t move forward until you get a signed document, period. He had an option to do that when I was in Ukraine, they didn’t do it; they had the option to do it last week, and didn’t do it," Kellogg said.

In response to the journalist's remark that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly offered to sign the agreement, Kellogg said: “There is a difference between offering to do it and doing it.”

When asked whether the signing of the minerals deal would be enough to resume US aid, Kellogg replied, “That is up to the president of the US. I am not the president,” and added that the current suspension is a pause.

Suspension of US military aid

The United States has suspended military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine. CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed this information.

According to the White House, the United States has suspended military aid to Ukraine for a review. The issue of future funding is under consideration.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in turn, commented on reports of restrictions on intelligence sharing between the United States and Ukraine.

He emphasized that the UK, the US, Europe and Ukraine should work together without choosing between the US and Europe. He noted that the UK has always maintained close cooperation with its allies and is not going to change this policy.
