US President's Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, during his visit to Kyiv, received briefings from Ukraine's Defense Intelligence head, Kyrylo Budanov, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Meeting with Umerov

According to Umerov, during his meeting with Kellogg, they held a focused and candid discussion on achieving a just and lasting peace.

Special attention was given to the development of joint projects for localizing weapons production in Ukraine and Europe, particularly in the field of air defense systems and other critically important areas. Some projects are already underway, while others are being prepared for launch.

Umerov also highlighted Ukraine's unique combat experience, especially in the use of drones, and noted that Ukrainians are ready to share this expertise.

They also discussed sanctions, including measures targeting Russia’s energy sector, which remains a key source of funding for the war.

Briefing for the US delegation

A separate briefing for the US delegation was conducted by Defense Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, and representatives of Ukraine's intelligence services.

"They provided information on the operational situation, assessments of enemy plans, and Russia's preparation for a broader war – not only against Ukraine but also against NATO. We demonstrated how Ukraine is responding to Russian aggression. General Syrskyi also outlined the Ukrainian army's priority needs in weaponry," Umerov said.
