Kazan airport in Russia closed after drone sightings
The "Carpet" plan has been implemented at the airport in the Russian city of Kazan, reportedly due to a threat of drone attacks, according to the Telegram channel Shot.
According to the channel, restrictions have been in place at Kazan Airport since 6 a.m. due to the threat of drone attacks. As a result, about 20 flights have been delayed for both arrivals and departures.
The "Carpet" plan is declared by air defense authorities in emergency situations, such as an immediate threat of drone attacks. It imposes an immediate ban on any flights within a 200-kilometer radius of the designated airport.
During the implementation of this plan, the evacuation of civilians from the airport is not anticipated.
It should be noted that a similar "Carpet" alert was issued in Kazan on October 12.
On the night of October 20, there was increased activity of air defense systems in several regions of central Russia, from Kursk to the Moscow region, due to numerous drone incursions.
In several localities, sounds of explosions were heard, and flashes were observed. According to official reports, all airborne targets were allegedly destroyed.
