The airport in Kazan, Russia, was closed on Saturday, October 12. The “Carpet” plan, meaning the ban of all flights above the territory, has been introduced, according to Russian media.

This morning, Russian state media quoted Rosaviation as saying that the airport in Kazan was temporarily closed. There were no flights arriving or departing.

Later, Russian media reported that the airport had been put under a “Carpet” plan. They wrote online about the alleged threat of drones.

The “Carpet” plan is announced if there is a threat of aircraft strikes or if a border crossing is detected. It should be noted that the distance from Kazan to the border with Ukraine is over 1000 km.

On the night of October 12, the Ukrainian military attacked a fuel and lubricants depot near the occupied town of Rovenky, Luhansk region. This oil depot was previously hit by Ukrainian weapons.

After the attack, a serious fire broke out at the depot. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that oil and oil products were stored in Rovenky, which were supplied, among other things, for the needs of the Russian forces.
