Ukrainian defense forces attacked an oil depot near the town of Rovenky, Luhansk region. It was storing fuel that was being supplied to the Russian army, states the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Last night, a strike was carried out on a fuel and lubricants depot near the town of Rovenky in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region. This base stored oil and oil products, which were supplied, among other things, for the needs of the Russian army,” the statement said.

A fire was reported on the territory of the oil depot. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that this oil depot had previously been attacked by Ukrainian weapons.

The operation was carried out by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.

Fire in Rovenky

On the night of October 12, a fire was reported in the area of the occupied town of Rovenky, Luhansk region. The town was occupied by Russians in 2014.

Some Telegram channels wrote that a local oil depot in Rovenky was attacked by drones. NASA satellites also recorded a fire in the area of the oil depot.

The network noted that the fire broke out on the territory with tanks near three gas stations.

This is not the first attack on the Rovenky oil depot. It is known that in May of this year, the oil depot was hit, and the strike caused a massive fire.

In April 2023, a serious fire also broke out at the Rovenky oil depot.
